1. Introduction
Botwire LLC, a Louisiana limited liability company doing business as botwir3 ("Botwire," "botwir3," "we," or "us"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and what rights you have regarding your information when you visit our website at https://botwir3.com (the "Site"), use our bot builder tool (the "Builder"), or interact with our Services.
This Privacy Policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Services.
The short version: We collect very little. The bot you download collects nothing. We never see your API keys, your trades, your strategy, or your bot's activity. This policy covers the Site and the Builder — not the Runtime, because the Runtime does not communicate with us.
2. What the Runtime Does Not Collect
Before describing what we do collect, it is important to state what we do not.
The Runtime (the bot you download and run on your local machine) makes zero network calls to botwir3. There is no telemetry. No analytics. No crash reporting. No usage tracking. No phone-home of any kind. The Runtime operates air-gapped from botwir3 after download.
Specifically, botwir3 never collects, receives, stores, transmits, or has access to:
- Your API keys, passwords, tokens, or platform credentials
- Your trading activity, order history, or transaction data
- Your bot's runtime behavior, performance, or execution logs
- Your strategy configuration, module selections, or band parameters
- Your connected platform accounts or balances
- The contents of your local Ledger
Your bot is your machine. Your data stays on your machine.
3. What We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the Site, the Builder, and payment processing. The categories below represent the full scope of data we collect.
3.1 Account Information
When you create an account through the Builder, we collect:
- Email address — used for authentication (magic link login via Supabase), order confirmation, and essential service communications
We do not require your name, phone number, physical address, or any other personal identifier to create an account.
3.2 Payment Information
When you make a purchase, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details. Stripe handles all payment card data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
From Stripe, we receive:
- Confirmation that payment was successful
- The Stripe customer ID associated with your purchase
- Transaction amount and date
- The product purchased
For information about how Stripe handles your payment data, see Stripe's Privacy Policy.
3.3 Website Analytics
We use privacy-first analytics (such as Plausible Analytics) that do not use cookies, do not collect personal information, and do not track individual users across sessions or sites.
Analytics data collected is aggregate and anonymous:
- Page views and referral sources
- Browser type and device category (desktop/mobile)
- Country-level location (derived from IP address, which is not stored)
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking tool that creates user profiles, sets cookies, or transmits personally identifiable information to third parties.
3.4 Communications
If you contact us at hello@botwir3.com or any other botwir3 email address, we collect the contents of your message, your email address, and any information you voluntarily provide. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.
3.5 Marketing Email (Opt-In Only)
If you voluntarily subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your email address for the purpose of sending product updates, new guide announcements, and other marketing communications. You may unsubscribe at any time using the one-click unsubscribe link included in every marketing email. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party for marketing purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes only:
- To provide the Services — authenticating your account, processing purchases, delivering downloaded software
- To communicate with you — sending magic link emails, purchase receipts, and responding to support inquiries
- To improve the Site — analyzing aggregate, anonymous usage patterns to understand which pages are visited and how the Site performs
- To send marketing communications — only if you have opted in, and only until you opt out
- To comply with legal obligations — responding to lawful requests from governmental authorities, enforcing our Terms of Service, and protecting our legal rights
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not share it for advertising purposes.
We share information only with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent necessary to provide the Services:
| Service Provider | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and account management | Email address |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Payment details (handled directly by Stripe) |
| Plausible Analytics (or equivalent) | Privacy-first website analytics | Aggregate, anonymous page view data (no PII) |
| Email provider (e.g., Resend, Google Workspace) | Transactional and marketing email delivery | Email address, message content |
We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
6. Cookies
The Site does not use tracking cookies. If we use privacy-first analytics (such as Plausible), no cookies are set. If any functional cookies are used in the future (for example, to maintain a login session), this section will be updated to describe them.
If you prefer, you can configure your browser to reject cookies. Because we do not rely on cookies for analytics or tracking, this will not affect your experience on the Site.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Account information (email address): Retained for the duration of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
- Payment records: Retained for as long as required by applicable tax and financial record-keeping laws (typically 7 years under IRS requirements).
- Support communications: Retained for up to 2 years after the last communication, then deleted.
- Marketing email list: Your email is removed immediately upon unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: Aggregate, anonymous data is retained indefinitely. No personal data is stored in analytics.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication (magic links, no passwords stored), and access controls limiting who within our organization can access personal data.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we commit to promptly investigating and responding to any suspected data breach. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and any applicable regulatory authority as required by law.
