Growth Target
The annualized return rate the strategy aims to achieve — the center of the tolerance band.
The growth target is the trajectory the strategy is wired to pursue. Set it to 8% and the gate evaluates every proposal against an 8% annualized growth path. The tolerance band wraps around this target, defining the acceptable deviation range.
The growth target is not a guarantee, a prediction, or a promise. It is a parameter. The strategy will pursue it. The market will do what the market does. A bot configured for 8% growth on an asset that declines 30% will experience drawdown — the gate constrains deviation from target, but it cannot override market reality.
The user configures the growth target in the builder. The default is 8%. The allowed range is 1%–25%. Higher targets require the strategy to take more aggressive positions, which increases both potential return and potential loss. The gate validates against the configured target. The user is responsible for selecting a target appropriate for the market and strategy.
